So, this week saw the official launch of my new printing company with friend and fellow screen printer, Richard Reed, called Rigor Mortis Printing Co. Since both of us have our own projects going on in our respective areas of expertise, we figure this would be a great way to join forces and have a broader appeal and client base to draw from. We figure, at least in this early stage, we’ll deal more with screen printed tees and other garments, as well as posters, prints and various other contract work, all the while pushing our own brand of graphic tees and such.
Last night I decided to stick around in the studio for a few extra innings and printed up our first promo poster featuring our slogan: “Print to the Death!” We’ll be giving a few of these away soon, along with some our soon-to-be-printed logo tees. The poster is a three color hand silk screened print, 13 x 25 inches on French’s Starch White Speckletone 100lb cover stock. This is an open edition print, but does come signed by yours truly. We’ll be designing and printing a few other posters soon, so keep yer eyes peeled!
We’ve got some other great things in the works too, like working with another swell clothing brand called Codeword:Clothing. They officially launch in August, and RMP is stoked to be their official printer! Pics and additional details to come soon…

All finished with the latest Polyphonic Spree poster. Printed 200 posters (four colors, 10.5” x 25” on starch white French Speckletone 100lb cover stock) all by hand. I think I logged in 12 hours between set-up and printing over a two-day period. Hard work pays off. This one will be frame-worthy in my archives…

Pick one up at a stop during the “You+Me” Phase 1 tour. Tour dates and venues here.

Here is a better image of the Carolina Chocolate Drops poster from the Granada Theater on Sept. 16, 2011. Three color silk screen on bright white Finch 100lb cover stock / 20.5” x 14” / 2011. S/N Edition of 40. The image is from an old discarded photograph I found at an antique shop. I’m always curious to know the story behind such photos… Check out more of my work here.
