Two new gig posters hitting the presses this week, one for Parade of Flesh’s Bleached/Hunters/The Atomic Tanlines show at Club Dada in Dallas on 4/13, and our design for Good Records’ 13th Birthday/6th Annual Record Store Day celebration on 4/20. Both hand silk screened with water-based inks. Will be available at the events, and later on the Napkin Art Studios web store.
Oh boy, what a crazy last couple of weeks, er…months it has been. We’ve been swamped with personal projects and contract work since January that there hasn’t been a lot of time to update everyone on what’s been going on.
We’ll sit down here soon and do a big recap on some of the things w’eve been working on, but first, we wanted to share one of our new music-inspired art prints that just came off the print tables today. If you know anything about our little studio, you know we’re HUGE vinyl record fans, and out tribute to the 45rpm adapter is going to go well with our collection and yours.
The print is a two color silk screen print on French’s Madero Beach Speckletone 100lb cover stock, measure 7” x 7” (appropriately), and is a signed, open edition. Since the custom mixed yellow really pops against the black, we are going to print a couple more versions in different colors. This print will hit our Etsy shop later this week, and will debut next week when we set up at White Rock Local Market in Dallas on April 13th, along with some of our brand new prints and gig posters.
We’re definitely blessed and really thankful to have so much work coming in, and to be able to share with everyone soon. Though Napkin Art Studios has been operating for nine years now, we feel as though we are finally coming into our own, and things are taking shape in a good and creative way.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks at new work soon!
Sadly, since there was no Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash this year, Napkin Art Studios will be at the Good Local Market on Saturday, Dec. 1st, hocking all the hand printed cards, art prints, gig posters and more. 10a-4p. Free and open to the public, with live music!
Shop local and buy hand made for the holidays!
QUICK UPDATE: So, lots going on right now (as usual), but thought I’d post a quick sneak peek at the next poster design I’m working on for the band, Skeletonwitch. Will be a 16” x 24”, three color poster for their 10/18 gig at Trees in Dallas, TX. I’m actually quite psyched about this working design.
Looking forward to a much-needed break for a few days, then it’ll be back to work with more posters, prints, a swank calendar, and some new paintings (FINALLY!) Working on a few t-shirt designs in there, as well…
Version 2 of my “Artists Don’t Work For Free” mantra print. Two color silk screen on 12.5” x 19” French Madero Beach Speckletone 100lb cover. Signed open edition available here.
Going to the presses this week…Parade of Flesh presents Lightning Bolt w/ Drug Mountain and Wiccans at Dallas’ historic Sons of Hermann Hall on 8/28. Three color screen print on 100lb cover stock, 12.5” x 19”, S/N. Will have a few available for purchase after the show.
Getting ready to release my (somewhat) highly anticipated “Classic Monsters” silk screen print set in time for the Halloween Season!. Each set is only limited to 25 copies, with matching print numbers. Only a few sets will be available during the pre-order period, which is your best chance at acquiring a low numbered set. Set releases August 24th! Grab a set here.
A quick interview I conducted with Etsy Speak today.
Last, but not least, for the soon-to-be-released “Classic Monsters” print set…Creature of the Black Lagoon. Two color silk screen on French Steel Gray Dur-O-Tone cover stock, 9” x 7”.
Working on some additional promo poster designs this evening for my other company, Rigor Mortis Printing. Excited to see the rest of the promotional materials and such come together. Now, just need to get working on the Napkin Art Promo stuff, too…
