Always keep your work surface clean and organized.
Oh boy, what a crazy last couple of weeks, er…months it has been. We’ve been swamped with personal projects and contract work since January that there hasn’t been a lot of time to update everyone on what’s been going on.
We’ll sit down here soon and do a big recap on some of the things w’eve been working on, but first, we wanted to share one of our new music-inspired art prints that just came off the print tables today. If you know anything about our little studio, you know we’re HUGE vinyl record fans, and out tribute to the 45rpm adapter is going to go well with our collection and yours.
The print is a two color silk screen print on French’s Madero Beach Speckletone 100lb cover stock, measure 7” x 7” (appropriately), and is a signed, open edition. Since the custom mixed yellow really pops against the black, we are going to print a couple more versions in different colors. This print will hit our Etsy shop later this week, and will debut next week when we set up at White Rock Local Market in Dallas on April 13th, along with some of our brand new prints and gig posters.
We’re definitely blessed and really thankful to have so much work coming in, and to be able to share with everyone soon. Though Napkin Art Studios has been operating for nine years now, we feel as though we are finally coming into our own, and things are taking shape in a good and creative way.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks at new work soon!
‘Vinyl Junkie’ says it all. This makes designer sleeve no.3 in our series of custom printed 45 record sleeves. Because let’s face it, plain sleeves are just boring…
I’ve always been a sucker for cool, interesting and quirky promo items from companies, and so after nearly 10 years of operating Napkin Art Studios, I felt it was high time to have a fun little promo of my own. Introducing the studio’s new hand printed promo napkins, our ‘thank you’ to all who purchase goods from and support Napkin Art Studios.
Hot off the presses today: ‘Mini Bug (Blue)’, two color silk screen on French Madero Beach Speckletone 100lb cover, 5” x 7”, S/N edition of 30.
This particular version is marked as a test pressing, which is how we now mark and catalog all of our artist proof and registration copy prints. Our love of vinyl knows no bounds…
Print will hit our Etsy shop within the next few days or so, along with a red version.
Finishing up the last batch of commission work for a client/collector in Chicago. Here’s a sneak peek at an Edie Sedgwick “Poor Little Rich Girl” portrait, prior to being stretched on its frame.
New pile of mini promo prints fresh off the presses today! Since we here in Texas have been experiencing some super Spring-like weather the last few days, we’re taking full advantage of it in the studio.
We have lots cooking right now, especially when it comes to our new rebranding campaign. After nearly 10 years of swell Napkin Art goodness, we’ve finally settled on a logo and theme, if you will, for the studio. Since we are huge fans of the All-American diner, we’ve adopted a retro diner look for our studio. Our paper diner hats arrived to the studio today, and we are going to be printing these babies up for promo purposes soon. Once those are complete, we’ll have some cocktail napkins to print up, too.
Coming up with swell promo ideas is one of the best parts about the studio, or design in general, especially when the designs and brand co-exist well together. Will have to see if we can get some Napkin Art sporks produced in the near future!
New promo print finished and already in a frame!
One of the other new Marilyn Monroe pieces currently in the works. Acrylic and silk screen on canvas, 24” x 24”. Love the direction these are going, and love getting back into the swing of painting. It’s been nice…
Here’s another peek into the workings of Napkin Art Studios.
